Referendum

I'm so sad. I feel sick and frustrated that old people have been allowed to vote us out of an organisation when they're not the ones who'll have to deal with the consequences. I don't want to go to work and have to deal with people gloating over leaving when it's the last thing we should be doing. Most of all, I want a recount. Seriously considering leaving this country.

*hugs* I don't know anyone who supported leaving. Everyone I know in the UK is gutted and rightfully so. I'm also watching the pound and Euro plummeting along with the global stock market. It's very very bad.

The people I do see gloating about leaving are assholes on FB who are attacking Noel Clarke for being angry this happened. They have no fucking idea what they're talking about, and are all unbelievably illiterate. They remind of Trump supporters. *sigh*

If you want to come to the US, I'd be happy to marry you. Although I'm not exactly financially solvent. ;)

I can't believe it has actually happened. We were following it throughout our day, so I probably realised the likely result earlier than you. So sad. We have been talking about going back to the UK permanently, but will have to wait and see for a while. Such a retrograde step and for no other reason than a mindless, misguided and jingoistic form of patriotism. I don't think I can bear to listen to Farage, although he is bound to be on our news.

I hear that you're sick and frustrated. I'm sad too.

I hear you. I have a lot of British friends and you're not alone, so it does seem to have been a select, yet larger, group of people who voted for this insane move.

*Hugs*

*hugs* I feel for you, I really do. Hopefully in the two years that it will take to implement this cooler heads will prevail and they can create an alliance everyone can live with.

Now I really understand that Chinese curse "may you live in interesting times."

I can't believe it happened!

Most of the people I know voted to remain in. Even old codgers like me.

My boss was fence sitting earlier in the week, with a slight lean towards exit. I discussed some of the issues with him, then he did a lot of research into the arguments on both sides and decided to vote Remain. He is very disappointed that so many idiots were swayed by the racism angle and the money lies. (he is about ten years younger than me, by the way).

Unfortunately, we have our own brand of ignorance/idiocy here in Australia. It seems to be a worldwide disease at the moment. "Make Britain great again," indeed! Make Britain totally irrelevant, more likely.
