The end of xxxHolic

Guys, I just finished the last volume of xxxHolic and I'm... really sad. Probably one of the most bittersweet endings I've ever read and YES, I know this is CLAMP, but when I read the final chapter and realised what Watanuki said and what that meant... my heart ached. It probably didn't help that My Skin by Natalie Merchant was playing on the iPod as I finished reading. I know that Watanuki's happy but I can't get over how sad it is that all those people...



The upside is that this has made me want to go back and re-read the whole series and maybe, finally, read Tsubasa as well.

Bwa!

Gonna be honest, once Yuuko left xxxHOLiC, I lost a lot of interest in it. Mostly on account of rage. Lots of rage. Rage at Watanuki for being stupid. Rage at Tsubasa for being a total hot mess of whatever it was. Just... anger.

The story definitely changed once she left, not always for the better. Any particular reason why you were so angry? The actual ending itself was dissatisfying. I thought 'That's it? Really?' I mean, obviously they're hinting at a sequel but this being CLAMP, who knows if that will happen? Tsubasa is a hot mess, huh?
